About Me (Mihir Gupta)

Do you know a Punjabi who is not a foodie… well I would call myself a health aficionado. Food has an enthusiastic effect on me. Being the younger sibling with various health conditions, I was nurtured in an environment of overprotectiveness. Their concern was rooted in my lower immunity and frequent illnesses and my mother always emphasized a healthy diet, instilling in me the belief that “you are what you eat”.

This belief was put to the test when I was the only one in my family to contract COVID-19. The isolation was challenging but became a pivotal moment for self-care and introspection. During this period, I leaned heavily on the wisdom imparted by my mother, who shared recipes for nutritious green juices and herbal teas, all sourced from our kitchen garden. I meticulously journaled this experience, recording each meal and its impact on my health.

“Food thy medicine ” is very close to my heart.. .. as l grew I myself developed a very keen interest in the wholesomeness of every food item I saw at a vegetable vendor or a supermarket. After comprehensive reading most of our dining table conversations very I told everyone about the energy of every food item… it was during one of our dinners that my grandfather suggested that I should make a journal… during the lockdown, this hobby of mine became my obsession.. I felt the more I researched my journal because interesting and inspiring… this journey became. This journal, initially a personal record, evolved into a comprehensive guide, encapsulating years of health and wellness knowledge passed down in my family. After recovering, I expanded this journal with my mother’s recipes, which she used during childhood to bolster my health. It became a treasure trove of information, a blend of personal experience and generational wisdom. it took me three and half years to get all my data collated.. and I am still adding products every week …I honestly believe that food actually can cure many diseases. I imagine following a proper diet u will never have to eat a blister pack of medicine, what amazes me is that a punnet of strawberries or a cluster of grapes, or a dash of honey in your meal can be magical.

The foodologist in me is positively irrepressible. My future plans for this website are to make it more interactive and collaborate with dietitians and foodmarts where all these products will be available. I also further aim to now study traditional diets, native foods, and ethnic cuisines, often associated with a specific culture or region and countries. There is so much more I can do with this project.. I feel the sky is the limit so stay tuned…
