Fenugreek occupies a prominent place among the seed spices grown in India. Its seeds are used as spice and condiment. Soak 25 grams of fenugreek sprouts in half a glass of water, after 12 hours filter the fenugreek and eat it and drink it after heating the water. This is the best use of fenugreek. Take fenugreek powder 10 minutes before eating. The properties of green leaves of fenugreek or fenugreek are similar.

Caution – Those whose nature is hot, hot things are not tolerated, blood falls from any part of the body, such as bleeding piles, hemorrhage, blood in urine, excessive blood in menstruation and coming for several days, fenugreek should be used sparingly and cautiously during the hot summer season.

Fenugreek has a warming effect. Therefore, it is more beneficial to consume it in the winter season.

Diabetes- Soak two spoons of ground fenugreek and one spoon of fennel in 200 grams of water at night and drink it after filtering the water in the morning. Patients of hot nature should take fenugreek in this method.

The following diseases will never come to a person who consumes all- purpose fenugreek seeds daily. For this, take two spoons of fenugreek every-day: –

• Paralysis
• Polio
• Heart disease
• Low and high blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Sugar
• Arthritis
• Respiratory disease
• Bone fever
• Piles and
• Joint pain

There is no side effect of its use and there is no avoidance either. Consumption of fenugreek seeds removes the blockage of nerves.

It is beneficial in the side effects of drinking alcohol, liver shrinkage, malnutrition, rheumatism, ascites, jaundice, anemia, back pain, irregular menstruation, etc.

If the breast milk is dry, there is swelling in the breasts, if there is pain, then grind green leaves of fenugreek and apply it on the breasts. Wash off after three hours. It would benefit.

Cholesterol – The diazene chemical found in fenugreek is useful in reducing cholesterol levels. In this way, it is the favorite food of heart patients.
Equal amount of ground fenugreek and ground dry coriander Mixing two spoons with warm milk every night, after taking one or two months continuously, keep this pillow on your pillow by making one-inch-thick pillow for male insomnia. Put it under your head and sleep. Deep sleep will come. The power increases.

Amvat –

(l) Soak three spoons of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water overnight. In the morning, boil it vigorously, filter it, and drink water. Due to this the goose will come out and there will be a benefit in rheumatism (joint pain).

(2) Taking a spoonful of fenugreek seeds with hot milk clears the stomach and reduces the incidence of air.

Knee pain –

(1) Mix equal quantities of turmeric, jaggery, ground fenugreek water and apply them on the knees on a hot night. Tie a bandage and keep it tied at night. Open the bandage in the morning.

(2) Take one spoon of ground fenugreek regularly with lukewarm water on an empty stomach. It would benefit.
(3) Eating fenugreek laddus provides relief in joint pain, pain in hands and feet.

Cough – Boil two spoons of fenugreek in two cups of water, filter the water and mix four spoons of honey in it, it provides relief in cough with mucus. If the fever is more than 102, then boil three spoons of fenugreek in two cups of water. Filter it after half the water and drink it three times a day. High fever will be cured. Fenugreek tea reduces fever.

Bone Breakage – Fenugreek seeds have the power to heal even the broken bones of any part of our body. It cures the pain of each joint of the hands and feet. Make a pudding and eat it by grinding fenugreek seeds.

It also prevents hair from turning white.
If there is constipation, eat a vegetable made of fenugreek leaves.

Diabetes – Diabetes is cured by the consumption of fenugreek. Its intake ranges from 25 to 100 grams per dose. By making it a vegetable in any way, grinding it, and mixing it with flour, making roti, you can take the grains in any way. Fenugreek is a fibrous food item. Taking four spoons of fenugreek seeds three times a day controls the increased amount of glucose in the blood. If any medicine for diabetes is being taken, then taking it fenugreek with it will give quick benefits. Mix 20 grams of cinnamon, turmeric, 10 grams of dry ginger, and take one spoon each with water in the morning and evening, it provides relief in pain.

    Myself a health aficionado . Food has an enthusiastic effect on me . Being the younger sibling with various health conditions, I was nurtured in an environment of overprotectiveness. Their concern was rooted in my lower immunity and frequent illnesses and my mother always emphasized a healthy diet, instilling in me the belief that "you are what you eat”.
    This belief was put to the test when I was the only one in my family to contract COVID-19. The isolation was challenging but became a pivotal moment for self-care and introspection. During this period, I leaned heavily on the wisdom imparted by my mother, who shared recipes for nutritious green juices and herbal teas, all sourced from our kitchen garden. I meticulously journaled this experience, recording each meal and its impact on my health.

  • Breathing is not always automatic. I learnt that the hard way.
    Even now, I can recall the harrowing memory from when I was 4: 3 AM, my chest tightening faster than I could explain. My parents rushing to find the nebuliser.
    For most kids, a medicine cabinet is usually a background object. Not for me, though. Ours had a schedule. Steroids. Inhalers. Steam. Nebulisers.
    My missed school days were no longer measured by absences, but by how long it took for my lungs to recuperate. This illness exiled me from the very body my childhood self had once taken for granted.
    But alongside the treatment, I began to notice smaller rituals. Rituals that made the illness feel a little less consuming. The nushkas (home remedies) were endless: adrak wali chai, honey stirred into turmeric or the steam inhalation my mom transformed into a myriad of herbs. My mother never called it nutritional science, but she knew what to make and when.
    When “healthy food” came to my mind, I pictured imported products, expensive superfoods and products in a vocabulary my childhood self could not decode.
    But I looked at my own kitchen.
    Lentils simmering, ginger crushing, yoghurt culturing. Ingredients so familiar, yet so valuable. The more I googled, the more I realised health shouldn’t be hidden behind imported deliveries. Sometimes, it can begin with what’s already waiting on the kitchen counter.
    This realisation became the foundation of Food Thy Medicine for me.
    I met my co- founder in the waiting room of a pulmonologist's clinic, where our shared routines of inhalers and nebulisers made the idea feel less like a project but a conversation we had to continue. Thus, I began contributing to this project during the summers after Grades 9 and 10. What began as an interest in food and health became deeply personal: a way to turn years of dependence on doctors, prescriptions and steroids into a desire to understand the body better. As a co-author, I helped build a platform that makes nutrition information practical, not glamorous.
    The research for my AI ensured isn’t built for a perfect kitchen, rather the half- empty fridge, rushed day and leftovers that people ask “What can we do with this?” It turns familiar ingredients into realistic meal ideas and our research explains what those ingredients contribute nutritionally.
    The point was never to make food mythical but to make useful information feel less daunting and more reliable. It does not replace doctors or medicine: and it shouldn’t. I still take my prescribed medicine. I still live with asthma. But the illness taught me that care doesn’t begin and end at a clinic door and may be found in the ordinary decisions at home. What we cook, what we keep in the fridge and how we care for ourselves between appointments.
    I can’t control every flare up. But I can keep asking better questions, and help more people see possibility in the food around them.
